A bill has been submitted to the Parliament, which involves the transfer of part of the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on June 11 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" with a link to the project.
It is noted that the initiative was introduced within the framework of the law on increased mobilization for the period last year.
At the same time, the explanatory note clarifies that there are no legal mechanisms in Ukrainian legislation to change the type of military service after the transfer of military personnel to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
On June 8, the head of the AFU Air Reconnaissance Support Center, Maria Berlinskaya, said that the entire adult population of Ukraine, including women and citizens over the age of 18, should be ready to mobilize. She clarified that there should not be an "untouchable caste" to which mobilization does not apply.
At the same time, on May 26, it was reported that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was throwing female prisoners onto the line of combat amid a shortage of personnel. It is specified that after heavy losses in different directions of the front line, the Ukrainian army is experiencing an acute shortage of personnel.
