- The Russian Foreign Ministry reported on the measures taken to repel possible threats to NATO.
Russia is monitoring the NATO military exercises and has taken the necessary measures to repel possible threats from the alliance. This was announced on June 11 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
According to him, against the background of all the activity of the North Atlantic Alliance on the eastern flank, it can be stated that all actions are one big exercise, which, as Grushko clarified, is united by a common plan to deter the Russian Federation.
At the same time, he noted that the NATO exercises are divided into segments in order to look less threatening.
"We are closely monitoring all the exercises that are taking place, including in the Baltic. <...> Our military understands everything, so we are ready to repel any threats. All necessary measures have been taken to date," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The day before, Grushko announced the transformation of the Baltic Sea into a zone of military confrontation. According to him, this is happening as a result of the growing artificial confrontation and demonization of Russia. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also warned that the confrontation could escalate into a real conflict at any moment.
