Moscow and Seoul have the potential to restore mutually beneficial cooperation in the interests of the peoples of the states. This was announced on June 10 by the Russian Ambassador to South Korea, Georgy Zinoviev.
"Today, despite the accumulated difficulties, Moscow and Seoul have the potential to restore mutually beneficial cooperation. I am convinced that this is in the interests of both the Russian and Korean peoples," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The Russian ambassador recalled that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and South Korea. He stressed that Moscow stands for a more just and sustainable world order.
According to Zinoviev, the Russian side enjoys the support of the countries of the global majority.
South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said on May 18 that he did not intend to abandon relations with Russia. He stressed that he was going to maintain a balanced policy on the world stage. The Head of State called the relations between Moscow and Seoul important for the republic.
