The State Duma adopted a law on increasing payments in case of accidents under the European protocol

At the plenary session on June 10, the State Duma adopted in the third final reading a bill to increase the payment limit for registration of road accidents under the European protocol (without the participation of police officers) from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles. The bill has been published in the database of the lower house of Parliament.

The document was submitted to the State Duma by deputies of the New People faction in June last year. The developers of the bill noted that the payment limit had not been increased for more than five years, and explained the urgency of the initiative by the need to index the amount of insurance payments.

Currently, when registering an accident without the participation of a police officer, the amount of insurance compensation to the victim for damage to his vehicle cannot exceed 100 thousand rubles if the participants have disagreements. If the drivers do not agree on the amount of compensation for damage or the person responsible for the accident, then traffic police officers are called.

In 2014, payments under the simplified scheme for registration of documents on road accidents for CTP without involving police officers were increased from 25 thousand to 50 thousand rubles. In 2018 — up to 100 thousand rubles.

Spare parts of the whole: CTP payment without depreciation may be introduced as early as 2025.

The day before, it was reported that the average CTP payment for January – April 2025 increased by 17.4% compared to the same period last year — from 92.2 thousand to 108.2 thousand rubles.
