The Baltic states have become the most ardent anti-Russian and anti-Belarusian critics in the European Union (EU). This was announced on June 10 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.

"It is paradoxical that the states that have been in the same camp with us for a very long time, the Baltic countries were part of the USSR, Poland was one of the serious pillars of our Warsaw Pact, <...> turned into the most ardent anti—Russian, anti-Belarusian critics in the EU," he said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

According to him, all the most striking and sophisticated sanctions against Moscow and Minsk, other restrictions or political statements come from the Baltic states.

On May 7, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced the continuation of the policy of Russophobia in the Baltic countries, which is spreading to their European partners. He stressed that the relevant actions indicate the growing contradictions within the European Union.
