Russia is interested in establishing good-neighborly relations, including with European states, after a special military operation. Dmitry Novikov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said this on Monday, June 9. He named the conditions for restoring contacts with the West.

The deputy noted that Russia is aimed at forming a multipolar and just world, a world of equal countries and peoples. This approach is popular today in the majority of the world's countries, he added.

According to the parliamentarian, Russia is interested in establishing good-neighborly relations, including with European states.

"The conflict was not our choice, we did not ask for the installation of stockades from military bases near our borders. All this was the result of the actions of the most reactionary forces in the West, who believed that the destruction of Russia was a good opportunity for them to get out of the acute crisis of capitalism that is currently being observed in Western countries," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

He added that if the willingness to develop relations is not just a declaration made on occasion at some summits, but rather a desire to develop political and diplomatic relations, economic, cultural, and sports ties, Russia will welcome it all.

"To do this, the NATO representation must completely abandon any hegemonic aspirations and take the position of the world majority, which stands for a just multipolar, multilateral world," he concluded.

Earlier in the day, Estonian President Alar Karis said that Estonia would have to establish relations with Russia diplomatically after the end of its military cooperation, since the countries border each other, reports TASS. 360.ru .

He said that after the completion of the special operation, Estonia will have to create some trust in Russia with diplomatic relations, which are currently practically reduced to zero, RT reports.
