Estonia will have to establish relations with Russia through diplomatic means after the completion of the special military operation (SVO), since the countries border each other. This was announced on June 9 by the President of Estonia, Alar Karis.

"Looking back at the past in Europe, there have been conflicts before, and now we have diplomatic relations, and some of these countries are even our allies," the LRT portal quotes him as saying.

As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", Karis said that after the completion of the special operation, Estonia will have to create "some trust" in Russia with diplomatic relations, which at the moment are practically reduced to zero.

On April 2, it became known that the Estonian government would begin building a line of fortifications on the border with Russia in the fall. First, it is planned to build a strongpoint of 14 bunkers in the northeast of the border strip and four bunkers in the southeast. The fortifications will have to withstand 152 mm ammunition. In total, up to 600 bunkers will be built.
