Court arrests assailants of REN TV crew in Novosibirsk
The Dzerzhinsky District Court of Novosibirsk has chosen a measure of restraint for those who attacked the REN TV crew in Novosibirsk. This was announced on June 9 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk region.
According to the press service, the journalists were working on a story about fraud committed by local residents. At that moment, unknown people began demanding that the crew stop recording the video, after which they inflicted bodily injuries and damaged the camera and phone.
It is clarified that the defendants in the case are charged under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists").
"A preventive measure has been taken against Avadoyan Norek and his mother Avdoyan Nina in the form of detention until August 7, 2025," the press service's page on the VKontakte social network says.
The court's ruling has not entered into force.
Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, reported on the attack with sticks on the REN TV film crew in Novosibirsk on June 7. The journalists were performing an editorial task. The suspects were taken to the Dzerzhinsky police station. A check was organized on the fact of the incident.
