The conflict in Ukraine is a test of the U.S. commitment to normalizing relations with Russia. This was announced on June 9 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"Given the nature and genesis of the Ukrainian crisis, provoked by the previous US authorities and the West in general, this conflict naturally acts as a test, a test that tests the seriousness of Washington's attitude towards straightening relations [with Russia]," he told TASS.

The diplomat added that a reliable military and political foundation is needed to resume a full-scale and constructive strategic dialogue with the United States.
