- The Russian Foreign Ministry called Kiev's refusal to accept the bodies of the military a manipulation of the agreements.

The Kiev regime is manipulating the agreements that were reached in the second round of negotiations in Istanbul, refusing to take the bodies of its servicemen. Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for crimes committed by the Kiev regime, told Izvestia on June 7.
"The statements they make are extremely vague. [They] in no way explain or give an understanding of the real reasons why Kiev is manipulating these agreements," Miroshnik said.
He also noted that by refusing to take the bodies of dead servicemen and exchange prisoners, Ukraine is now neglecting not only human agreements, but also the norms of international humanitarian law.
"It is the Ukrainian side that should have asked for the remains of its dead soldiers to be handed over in order to be buried with appropriate honors or handed over to their relatives. But we see a radically different situation. Ukraine does not follow the norms of international humanitarian law and even refuses to accept a humanitarian gesture," the ambassador said.
He also stressed that the Russian Federation strictly follows any agreements and obligations, recalling Moscow's transfer of lists and preparation of bodies. According to Miroshnik, the vague reasons for the refusal to accept bodies demonstrate that the Kiev regime ignores the mood of the population.
On that day, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said that the Ukrainian side had unexpectedly postponed indefinitely the reception of the bodies of dead soldiers and the exchange of prisoners of war. He also called on Ukraine to comply with the agreed schedule and fulfill all the agreements that were reached at the second round of negotiations in Istanbul.
