- Ukrainian media reported over 90,000 deserters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces this year.

In Ukraine, in the first five months of 2025, 90.5 thousand criminal proceedings were registered under articles 407 and 408 of the Criminal Code for unauthorized abandonment of part (SOC). This was reported on June 7 by the online publication Strana.ua" with reference to a statement by journalist Vladimir Boyko.
According to him, the number of reports of desertion to the Unified Register of Pre—Trial Investigations of Ukraine (ERDR) is distributed as follows: January — 18.1 thousand, February — 17.8 thousand, March — 16.3 thousand, April - 18.3 thousand, May — 19.9 thousand. Boyko notes that these are only the data on which criminal proceedings have been initiated based on official investigations, and the real situation could be much worse.
The journalist also claims that practically no one is looking for deserters, despite statements by the Kiev authorities about pardons for those who returned to their units after going awol. Boyko connects the mass NWF with the demonstrative evasion of the mobilization of famous personalities and their massive fictitious stay in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and predicts a military catastrophe for Ukraine.
Earlier, on May 27, the Ukrainian police reported the exposure of an interregional group that helped the military leave military units to escape abroad. The cost of services ranged from $ 3 thousand to $ 6 thousand, and for illegal border crossing they charged from $ 12 thousand to $ 15 thousand.
