Trump's adviser announced negotiations on rare earth metals with China

The topic of rare earths will be a key one in the upcoming trade talks between the United States and China. This was announced on June 6 by Peter Navarro, senior adviser to the President of the United States on trade.
"We expect the meeting to take place within seven days," he was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.
Navarro added that US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping understand what result they want to achieve during negotiations on the supply of rare earths.
On June 5, Trump announced that the United States and China had settled a number of controversial trade issues, including Beijing's supply of rare earth metals. He recalled the current agreement with China concluded in Switzerland and noted that agreements had been reached on key issues, primarily related to the export of rare earth metals.
