The Lithuanian Border Guard Service disembarks passengers traveling to the Kaliningrad region with non-biometric Russian passports. This was announced on June 6 by the press service of the Federal Passenger Company (FPC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways).

"When crossing the state border of the Republic of Lithuania by rail, cases of passengers with non—biometric Russian passports disembarking by the Lithuanian border services are recorded," the company's Telegram channel says.

To prevent such situations, they recommended buying a ticket no later than 28 hours before departure, issuing a simplified travel document (UPD-RAILWAY), and filling out a questionnaire on the website of the Lithuanian consular offices.

In the absence of an UPD, a passenger with a non-biometric passport may be refused to cross the border, the FPC noted.

In May, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kastutis Budris said that Russia needed to be isolated and sanctions against it tightened. According to the minister, compliance is not the way to peace.
