- Companies in Russia have become 1.5 times more likely to look for teenagers for summer part-time jobs

The number of vacancies in May 2025, available to applicants from the age of 14, was 4.4 thousand, which is 55% more than the same period last year, calculated for Izvestia in hh.ru . According to the recruitment platform, companies from the fields of logistics and transportation, service, sales, and retail are looking for teenagers.
"Companies have fewer and fewer resources to entice employees with high salaries. Therefore, they are increasingly turning to people who are willing to work for a small salary, but at the same time they have great growth potential as future more qualified specialists," says Natalia Milchakova, a leading analyst at Freedom Finance Global.
Most of the employment of minors takes place during the holidays, the All-Russian Research Institute of Labor told Izvestia. Part-time work allows young people to try themselves, look at the work of various organizations in practice, choose an interesting direction for themselves and get their first practical skills.
Every year, young people strive to start working as early as possible, as they want to become independent — to prove their worth and confirm their self-worth, says Irina Romanova, Associate professor at the Department of Personnel Management at the State University of Management (GUU).
Nevertheless, she continued, early employment will allow a minor to clarify his professional preferences, decide on a profession, acquire important skills — the ability to work in a team, be responsible and disciplined, stress-resistant.
