The classic Niva entered the top three SUV bestsellers for the first time in a year

In May 2025, the Lada Niva Legend model entered the top three best-selling crossovers and SUVs in Russia (the SUV segment) for the first time in 13 months. 2.6 thousand such vehicles were sold during the month, the analytical agency "Autostat" reported on June 4.

At the top of this rating is the Haval Jolion, which is the country's best-selling foreign car. At the end of spring, 4,586 copies of this model were sold. In second place, ahead of Niva, is the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max with a score of 2,757 units.

For the first time in a month, Changan Uni-S/CS55 Plus and Belgee X50 took the fourth and fifth places (2542 and 2404 units, respectively).

The top ten most popular SUV models in Russia also include the Geely Monjaro (2,390 units), Chery Tiggo 4 (2,331 units), Lada Niva Travel (2,288 units), Haval F7 (1,820 units) and Chery Tiggo 4 Pro (1,786 units).

The share of new car brands in the market is growing in Russia

Lada Granta led the Russian car market among all models in May. In the last month of spring, 12 thousand Granta machines were sold, including those produced on its basis. This is 35.1% less than a year ago.

Also on this day, it was reported that by the end of May 2025, 91.2 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 28.3% less than in the same month last year. Lada accounted for 28% of the market at the end of spring, which in quantitative terms amounts to 25.6 thousand copies sold.
