Ukraine has made a lot of efforts to disrupt a new round of negotiations in Istanbul with the Russian Federation. This was announced on June 4 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Kiev and its EU sponsors, Western sponsors have made a lot of efforts to disrupt the next round of negotiations in Istanbul," she said during a briefing.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that by using terrorist methods, Kiev seeks to torpedo the peace process that has emerged in the Turkish capital.

Speaking about the second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Zakharova also said that Kiev had taken a break to study the provisions of the Russian memorandum on the settlement of the conflict. The Russian side, in turn, will consider the document received from Ukraine in detail, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place on June 2. At the same time, it was reported that the memorandum of the Russian side on the settlement of the conflict includes 31 points, including options for a possible ceasefire.

After the talks, the head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, said that Moscow and Kiev had agreed on the largest exchange of prisoners of war since the beginning of the special operation, which would include at least 1,000 people on each side.
