A fire broke out on the Morning Midas cargo ship in the North Pacific Ocean. This was announced on June 4 by the US Coast Guard unit in Alaska.

"The USCG is responding to a fire aboard a 600-foot (over 180 m) — Ed.) of the Morning Midas cargo ship with 22 people on board, 300 miles (555 km) southwest of (an island in the Aleutian Islands group. — Ed.) Adak," the service said in a statement.

As noted in the message, information about the victims has not been received at the moment, and the ship's crew continues to actively fight the fire. There are three vessels at the scene of the emergency to provide assistance, helicopters and a coast guard boat are also being sent there.

On the same day, a fire broke out on the Iceberg fishing schooner in the Sea of Japan 250 miles (402 km) south of Vladivostok. The Iona Island refrigerated transport vessel approached the emergency vessel and rescued all 17 crew members.
