A magnitude 5.9 earthquake was recorded on the island of Seram in Indonesia. This was announced on June 4 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The tremors were detected at 03:43 (06:43 Moscow time). At the same time, the earthquake was located at a depth of 34 km, 289 km from the city of Sorong, where 125 thousand people live.

At the moment, there is no information about casualties or damage.

On June 2, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded in the Aegean Sea near the coast of Turkey. The earthquake was located at a depth of 68 km.
