Little will change in relations between Moscow and Warsaw after the coming to power of the new Polish president, Karol Nawrocki, who has been put on the wanted list by Russia. Alexander Konkov, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, expressed this opinion on Tuesday, June 3.

"Both candidates were neck and neck. For Poland itself, they represent really extreme camps that are arguing about the future of the country. But this is the case when it is neither cold nor hot for our country," Konkov said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The political scientist explained that both camps of Polish politicians base their strategy on Russophobia.

"Therefore, in any case, their entire foreign policy will be based on a tough anti—Russian course," he concluded.

On June 1, the second round of presidential elections was held in Poland, which was won by Navrotsky, IA Regnum reports. He won 50.89% of the vote, while his rival, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the ruling "Civic Coalition" Rafal Trzaskowski, won 49.11% of the vote.

In 2024, the Russian Interior Ministry put Navrotsky on the wanted list in connection with his involvement in acts of vandalism against monuments in memory of Red Army soldiers in Poland. Life.Ru .
