A criminal case was opened after the deaths of people in a fire in St. Petersburg.


A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg after the deaths of two people in a fire in an apartment building on the embankment of the Obvodny Canal. This was reported on June 3 in the press service of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city.
"Investigators are working at the scene, the circumstances of the incident are being established," the department's Telegram channel says.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two persons").
The death of two people in a fire in a three-room apartment in St. Petersburg became known earlier in the day. The fire occurred on an area of 130 square meters. m. Seven pieces of equipment and 27 personnel participated in extinguishing.
