Afghanistan has appointed Movlavi Gul Hassan as the country's ambassador to Russia. This was announced on June 3 at the Afghan Embassy in Moscow.
"Movlavi Gul Hassan will be our ambassador, he is coming soon," RIA Novosti reported.
It is indicated that the Russian Federation has already issued an agreman to the new representative of Kabul.
Earlier, on April 17, the Supreme Court of Russia suspended the ban and excluded the Afghan Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on November 27, 2024, that without removing the status of terrorists from the Taliban, it is impossible to develop cooperation with Afghanistan in practice. In June of the same year, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that stability in Afghanistan was very important both for the Russian Federation and for other countries in the region, so it was necessary to build relations with the Taliban government.
