A defendant in the murder of teenagers in Baikalsk has been charged. This was reported on June 3 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk region.
It is noted that the man is charged under paragraphs "b, c" of Part 3 of Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Involvement of two or more minors, including a minor, in the systematic use of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products").
"The investigation requested that the 24-year—old defendant be given a preventive measure in the form of detention," the department's Telegram channel said.
The tragedy occurred on May 28. Five teenagers were killed and four others injured in a knife attack in Baikalsk. After the incident, the alleged suspect set fire to the house and died as a result of the fire that started. An operational headquarters was set up in the city following the incident. Three days of mourning were declared after the deaths of the teenagers.
