Russian air defense destroyed five drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Belgorod region

The Russian air defense forces destroyed five Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region during the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on June 2.

"In the period from 8:00 to 20:00 Moscow time, five Ukrainian aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region by air defense systems on duty," the agency said in a Telegram channel.

By its actions, the "war party" wants to disrupt peace initiatives, experts say.

Earlier in the day, the governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced that a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had detonated on the territory of a commercial facility in the region. As a result, a civilian was injured, the man was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and barotrauma.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense indicated that air defense systems shot down two Storm Shadow cruise missiles and 316 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 205 outside the area of the special military operation. It is noted that four US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs were also shot down.
