The State Duma reacted to the UK's statements about readiness for war

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's statement on readiness for war is an attempt to disrupt the negotiation process on Ukraine. This was stated by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Monday, June 2.
"We understand that everything is going on only to disrupt and complicate the negotiation process, escalate phobias and accuse Russia of something that has never happened," the politician said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The parliamentarian stressed that Russia has never wanted and does not want a military conflict with the UK, but admitted that the country is ready to respond to appropriate actions from London.
On June 2, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the beginning of the country's preparations for war, RT reports. He said that the main goal of the British armed forces at the moment is the transition to combat readiness.
On the same day, the head of the Federation Council's information policy commission, Alexei Pushkov, said that the British authorities were planning to wage a long "ice war" with Russia. At the same time, they cannot reach the level of the "big geopolitical three" — the United States, Russia and China, the senator noted.
