The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on civilian targets in the city of Kursk. This was reported on June 2 in the press service of the department.

"As part of the investigation of the criminal case on a terrorist act (paragraphs "a", "b", part 2, Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), military investigators are establishing the circumstances of a night attack by Ukrainian military personnel on the city of Kursk," the Telegram channel says.

It is noted that during the investigative measures, fragments from drones were found, which were sent for an explosive forensic examination. In addition, work is underway with the civilian population, whose property was damaged due to the attack by the Kiev regime.

At the moment, measures are continuing to identify the Ukrainian formations involved in the incident.

Earlier in the day, Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, reported that air defense systems had shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Kursk APU, as a result of the attack, the civilian infrastructure was damaged. According to him, after the drone debris fell, private houses and a garage caught fire.
