Kursk holds the blow: the city has experienced the most massive raid since the beginning of its

The combat units of the UAVs that attacked Kursk on the night of April 15 were equipped with shrapnel, which is used for mass destruction of people. This shows that the main target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was civilians, experts interviewed by Izvestia said. The city has experienced the most massive enemy strike since the beginning of the special operation. According to preliminary data, a civilian was killed, nine more people were injured, 24 apartment buildings and 37 private houses were damaged. What is the current situation in the city and how Russia can respond to these attacks is in the Izvestia article.
Night raid
On the night of April 15, 109 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles attacked Kursk, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin arrived at the site of the strikes at night. He said that the area around one of the houses was strewn with glass fragments and UAV fragments with inscriptions in Ukrainian. According to him, these fragments will be collected and sent for examination.
— An enemy drone crashed into an apartment building. Apartments on the ninth, eighth and seventh floors were damaged. The territory is in fragments, and cars are also damaged. At least four cars were damaged," Alexey Poltoranin said.
Most Kuryans say that they were asleep at the time of the Ukrainian shelling.
— I remember that something falls on me and falls like sand. And I can already hear my son shouting: "Mom, are you alive?" I tell him, "Yes, I'm alive," said local resident Valentina Leonidovna.
She added that as a result of the shelling, her son was injured and was hospitalized in a regional hospital.
Anastasia Ivanovna remembers waking up to a loud bang, like metal hitting metal. When she went out to the entrance, she saw that everything there was destroyed.
Another local resident said that the shelling began around 01:40 — then there was a strong rumble. She went out onto the landing and saw the broken windows.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces purposefully hit the peaceful infrastructure of Kursk with the help of UAVs. A fire broke out in several houses, the press service of the regional administration reported.
As a result, an 85-year-old woman was killed, nine civilians were injured. They received shrapnel wounds, traumatic brain injuries and burns. Two more people went to the ambulance with minor injuries, they were released for outpatient treatment after providing the necessary medical care, they noted.
The fire damaged 24 apartment buildings, 37 private houses and 20 cars. Of these, 11 were ambulances, and one of the shells hit a garage with official vehicles. Residents of the damaged houses were placed in temporary accommodation facilities, the administration of the Kursk region said.
— The unprecedented brutality of the crime of the Ukrainian Nazis, a night drone strike on Kursk. 24 residential buildings (apartment buildings — Ed.) were damaged, three of them are quite serious, experts are working. They will assess the possibility of restoring the houses by the evening. For the time being, all people are accommodated in the RVR at night. Everyone has been evacuated, and everyone is provided with food and assistance. We will provide all the victims with the necessary payments. Everyone will be cared for. No one will be left without help, without care. The enemy is agonizing, but the Kuryans are only becoming stronger, even more united in the face of danger," said Alexander Khinshtein, acting Governor of the Kursk region.
About a thousand people were left without electricity in the Kursk Railway District. For security reasons, the power supply was turned off in apartment buildings affected by the arrivals on Zavodskaya, Orlovskaya, Veszpremskaya streets, the press service of Rosseti Center reported.
"The massive strike by Ukrainian drones on Kursk is a cynical action that demonstrates the true goals of the Nazi regime of Vladimir Zelensky," Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik wrote on his Telegram channel.
On the fact of a massive attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on residential buildings in Kursk, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on a terrorist act (paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The purpose of the enemy's strike on Kursk
The drones that hit Kursk were filled with shrapnel, said Roman Alyokhin, a military volunteer who is currently in the Kursk region.
"This means they wanted to cause maximum damage to people," he told Izvestia. — Shrapnel is used mainly for mass destruction of manpower. A cluster munition falls to the ground and only then explodes, and this projectile detonates in the air and pours a real rain of iron striking elements.
According to him, everything is calm in the city now — there has never been an air raid since this morning. Damage and blockages are being dismantled, and damage is being assessed.
— Some private houses have completely burned down and cannot be restored. People from dangerous areas have been moved to temporary accommodation facilities, and refugees from the border area are now there," he said.
The purpose of such attacks is always the same — to intimidate people, to show their strength, Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia.
"This is the ideology of Bandera and terrorists," he stressed. — Why are they killing public figures, journalists, politicians, doctors, teachers? To show his power. They don't need anything progressive. They only want to keep people enslaved to darkness and fear. So they catch up with him in this way. These are their natural actions. But they did not succeed in scaring the Russians, but they succeeded in scaring their own population. The government in Ukraine is now based on fear. People there cannot express their opinion against the Bandera government. They understand that they have children and a life that can be taken away at any moment.
In western Ukraine, they fought the Nazis until 1956. But apparently "they didn't finish it off, they were released from prison, and they came to power in Ukraine," the expert concluded.
