- The European Parliament announced the impact of Kiev's military support on the course of negotiations

Western military support for Ukraine may negatively affect the prospects of the negotiation process. Milan Mazurek, a member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, expressed this opinion in an interview with Izvestia.
"I believe that at this stage such military support may negatively affect peace negotiations," he said.
According to the parliamentarian, instead of supplying weapons, European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, should focus on diplomatic efforts.
"I would prefer that the German Chancellor, who recently even threatened my country, Slovakia, focus on diplomacy," Mazurek added.
When asked about the possibility of suspending aid, the MEP noted that there are indeed forces in the European Parliament that advocate a peaceful settlement and mutually beneficial cooperation. He stressed that his political faction, Europe of Sovereign Nations, supports the ceasefire, but "at this stage it is unrealistic, since there is no necessary majority to promote such initiatives."
On the evening of June 1, a Russian delegation arrived in Istanbul for talks with the Ukrainian side, which includes Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.
