The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the possibility of a new prisoner exchange with Ukraine

An exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine is possible if there is political will and a well-established mechanism for cooperation. This was reported to Izvestia by the Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik.

"Reaching such an agreement is possible," the diplomat noted.

He also stressed that the issue is technical and political in nature.

According to him, a successful exchange requires clear coordination of the parties' actions: it is necessary to compile lists of detained persons, transfer them, verify them and agree on a return procedure.

Miroshnik recalled that previous exchanges had shown the viability of such a mechanism.

As previously reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the exchange initiated by Russia according to the formula of 1000 per 1000 people, which the parties agreed on at the talks in Istanbul, took place from May 23 to May 25 and was carried out through the territory of Belarus.
