A series of coincidences

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the collapse of the bridge on the eve of the second round of negotiations with Ukraine is of serious concern.

"There must have been such coincidences somewhere in the world. But the series of events that takes place a day before the start of the scheduled negotiations raises very serious questions," said Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.

The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Alexei Chepa, in a conversation with Izvestia, admitted that the incident around the bridge in the Bryansk region could be another attempt by the Kiev regime to blackmail and pressure Moscow in order to influence the preparation of a peace agreement.

Ukraine wants Russia to agree to the conditions that it puts forward, and therefore resorts to such measures. But Kiev should know that any actions will definitely be met with a response from our side," he said.

The Kiev regime's task is to continue fighting, because it can only exist in these conditions, military expert Viktor Litovkin noted.

"The enemy doesn't need peace," he says. — The Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready to show the West that they are still acting so that it can continue to supply them with weapons, ammunition and money.

According to Litovkin, Ukraine is trying by all means to force Russia to abandon future negotiations. In this case, Kiev believes, not only the European Union, but also the United States will act against Moscow.

The armed forces of Ukraine are currently being defeated in the combat zone, in particular in the Sumy region, military expert Vasily Dandykin recalled in an interview with Izvestia. Against this background, Ukrainian militants may increasingly resort to sabotage, the purpose of which is to sow panic, trying to transfer the fighting to the territory of Russia, he added.
