Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation continue emergency recovery work at the site of the bridge collapse in the Bryansk region. This was announced on June 1 by the press service of the department.
"Emergency recovery teams removed three wagons and a locomotive from the railway track <...>. To remove the bridge debris, a controlled collapse of part of the damaged structures was carried out," the ministry said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
Currently, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is smashing large parts of the bridge and clearing the railway track from the debris.
It is noted that 72 specialists and 12 pieces of equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working on the site, and psychologists of the department are working with passengers of the affected train.
The press service of the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that the bridge was no longer subject to restoration, so they decided to bring it down. The main work at the scene is carried out by heavy machinery — a hydraulic hammer and hydraulic grinders. The head of the region is at the scene of the emergency.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion. Later, Bogomaz reported that the number of injured as a result of the train accident in the Bryansk region was 71 people, seven people died.
