55 victims of the emergency involving the collapse of a bridge on a train in the Bryansk region are undergoing inpatient treatment. This was announced on June 1 by the Russian Ministry of Health.

"According to operational data, 55 victims of the accident on the railway in the Bryansk region, including four children, are undergoing inpatient treatment. Four victims, including a child, are in serious condition," said Alexei Kuznetsov, Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.

He added that six victims, including three children, were taken to Moscow. According to him, all patients underwent the journey satisfactorily, and now doctors have begun diagnosis and treatment. Another 13 people were hospitalized after the arrival of the reserve train at the Kievsky railway station, three more injured were hospitalized in medical facilities of the Russian Railways (RZD). 33 patients are being treated in Bryansk hospitals.

Kuznetsov stressed that 63 people sought the help of psychologists after the train crash.

Earlier that day, Semyon Meshcheryakov, chief physician of the Leonid Roshal Clinic in Moscow, said that two children who were injured in the collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region had been fully examined. The baby is in critical condition in intensive care, and a seven-year-old boy is being prepared for a traumatic operation.

The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region with cars on it on the Klimov — Moscow passenger train happened on the evening of May 31. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion. Later, the governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced that the number of victims of the train accident in the Bryansk region was 71 people, seven people died.
