Railway and automobile traffic after the train accident in the Kursk region is planned to be restored within four days. This was announced on June 1 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.
"Within four days, railway and automobile traffic is planned to be restored <...> A temporary detour has been organized for vehicles," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The acting governor said that the damaged locomotive was dragged aside, and the wagons were also being removed from the tracks.
Earlier that day, Khinstein reported that three train crew members were injured in an emergency on a railway bridge near Zheleznogorsk in the Kursk region. The driver and two assistants were diagnosed with numerous bruises.
On June 1, a bridge collapsed during the movement of a freight train in the Kursk region. Some of the wagons fell onto the highway under the bridge. The Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion.
