Putin listened to reports on the state of emergency from the governor of the Bryansk region and the head of Russian Railways

Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz and the head of the Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov and listened to reports on the train emergency. This was announced on June 1 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"The head of State listened to reports on the measures taken in connection with the incident on the railway," he told reporters.

Earlier in the day, Peskov stressed that Putin had been receiving reports on train accidents in the Kursk and Bryansk regions throughout the night. He clarified that the reports to the head of state were received through the FSB and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region with cars on it on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train happened on the evening of May 31. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion. According to the latest data, the death toll is seven people. More than 70 people were injured.
