A relative of one of the passengers injured in the collapse of a bridge on a railway in the Bryansk region, Tatyana Fattyakhova, shared details about the situation after the emergency with Izvestia on June 1.
"She called us after 11 p.m. and said that an emergency had occurred, that they had been taken off the train, they were walking through the woods somewhere in the dark with their belongings, then they were taken by bus to a school in a nearby village and given tea," she said.
According to Fattyakhova, all passengers who needed first aid received it. After that, the victims were transported by bus to Bryansk, from where they were able to continue their journey by train to Moscow.
The collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region with cars on it on the Klimov – Moscow passenger train happened on the evening of May 31. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed that the collapse occurred as a result of an explosion.
According to the latest information, the death toll is seven people, more than 70 people were injured. The train driver and his assistant were killed.
