Bridge collapses in Bryansk and Kursk regions occurred as a result of explosions


The Investigative Committee (IC) confirmed that the collapses of bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions occurred as a result of explosions. The official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, on Sunday, June 1, announced the transfer of the investigation to the Main Investigation Department.
"On behalf of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, criminal cases on the facts of incidents in the Bryansk and Kursk regions have been transferred to the Main Investigative Department of the department," the Investigative Committee's Telegram channel clarifies.
According to the investigation, on May 31, at 22:50, an explosion occurred on the Vygonichi — Pilshino stretch in the Bryansk region, as a result of which a road bridge collapsed. Its fragments fell on a passenger train passing under it. There are dead and injured.
On June 1, at about 3:00 a.m. in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region, after a railway bridge was blown up, a passing train fell onto a highway. The driver and two of his assistants were injured.
"Currently, employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia are working at the scene, who are conducting urgent investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident," the publication added.
Earlier, Izvestia had a list of victims of the collapse of a bridge on a passenger train in the Bryansk region. Seven people are also known to have died.
