The span of the bridge fell during the movement of a freight train on the 48th km of the Trosna - Kalinovka highway in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region. This was announced on June 1 in the Telegram channel of the Russian Railways (RZD).

"Today at 2:21 a.m., a diesel locomotive and three empty freight train cars derailed on the Ostapovo —Mikhailovsky Mine single-track section in the Kursk region due to a falling bridge span," the Russian Railways Telegram channel said.

As a result of the incident, a section of the locomotive caught fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

According to Russian Railways, the driver suffered a leg injury, there were no other injuries. Currently, work is underway at the scene to eliminate the consequences, which involve two recovery trains.

The collapse of a bridge in the Kursk region during the movement of a freight train became known on the same day. Some of the wagons fell onto the highway located under the bridge. At the same time, the remaining trains stopped on the railway platform. All members of the team have been taken to a medical facility and are under medical supervision.
