A man killed his wife and tried to set fire to an apartment with his daughter in Ulan-Ude.

In Ulan-Ude, a man killed his wife in a rented apartment, after which he hid with his young daughter in another apartment, in which he committed suicide a few days later, setting a fire before his death. This was announced on May 31 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Buryatia.

"According to the investigation, a few days ago, a suspect in a rented apartment on Karl Marx Boulevard in Ulan-Ude strangled her during an argument with his wife, left her body at the scene, locked the front door, then took his young daughter with him and began living along Borsoeva Street with the child," the police said. department.

Later, on the night of May 31, the suspect set a fire on the balcony of a new apartment, after which he committed suicide. They found keys and a suicide note in his pocket with the address of the previous apartment, in which his wife's body was found.

The young child was not injured in the fire, as specialists were able to extinguish the fire in time. The girl has now been handed over to her relatives.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").

"Currently, the necessary investigative actions are being carried out in the criminal case aimed at establishing the full picture of the incident," the SU IC concluded.

Earlier, on May 24, a man killed his ex-wife and injured his son on his birthday in Kazan. According to a neighbor, the suspect broke into his ex-wife's apartment and stabbed her in the throat. He committed this crime despite the fact that there was a three-year-old child there. Subsequently, the man was found in the apartment he rented.
