- In the Czech Republic, the minister resigned due to receiving bitcoins from a drug dealer

Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blazek resigned from his post after a scandal involving the receipt by his ministry of about a billion crowns in bitcoins from convicted drug trafficker Tomas Irzikowski. This was reported on May 30 by Czech Radio.
"Of course, some representatives of the opposition have spoken about this today. It was clear to me that the investigation of this case would take weeks. But I did not expect that Pavel Blazek would resign today," said Jan Skopecek, a deputy from the Civic Democratic Party (ODS).
It is noted that at the moment there is no evidence of the illegality of such a transfer in bitcoins. The minister himself continues to insist on the purity of the deal.
Earlier, on May 27, Bo Hines, executive director of the White House Board of Advisors on digital currencies, said that the US administration intends to accumulate as much bitcoin reserve as possible and will not sell a single unit. On March 2, US President Donald Trump announced the preparation of the US cryptocurrency reserve, which will be based on bitcoin and Etherium. He added that he would do everything to turn the United States into the "crypto capital of the world."
