The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) damaged the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Mourners" during a night attack on Kursk. This was reported on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) on May 30.

"As a result of the fall of the wreckage of the Ukrainian UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle. — Ed.), shot down over the city of Kursk, the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy to All who Mourn" was damaged, the publication says.

It is specified that a window was broken in the temple, and the roof was also damaged. It is noted that law enforcement officers promptly examined the scene. There are no casualties.

On the night of May 30, Alexander Khinshtein, the acting governor of the Kursk region, reported on the victim of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Kursk. A 27-year-old local resident was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

Later, investigators examined the consequences of the Ukrainian drone crashes on the territory of Kursk. It was clarified that inscriptions in Ukrainian were found on some fragments of the drone. A nearby residential building was also damaged.
