Cherries can be not only delicious, but also useful for our body berry. About the benefits you can get from this berry, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by Daria Khaikina, a pediatric endocrinologist and nutritionist at the SM Clinic.

According to the expert, sweet cherries have anti-inflammatory properties and can be useful for those who struggle with swelling and joint pain.

"Cherries are good for the heart and blood vessels. We all know that potassium helps regulate blood pressure and improves heart function. But not everyone knows that the mineral is found in large quantities in sweet cherries," the doctor noted.

Khaikina drew attention to the presence of vitamin C, beta-carotene and zinc in cherries, which will help the immune system recover from illness or active physical activity.

"Cherries also have a positive effect on the hormonal background in women <...> Cherries are especially useful during the premenstrual period (PMS) and menopause," the expert said.

The endocrinologist noticed that there is melatonin in the cherries. This hormone is usually produced by our body for rest. If you eat a small portion of sweet cherries in the afternoon, it can improve your sleep quality and make it easier to fall asleep.

The expert also mentioned the amount of berries eaten — a handful per day.

"Even a healthy berry in large quantities can cause bloating and sugar spikes," the doctor concluded.

Earlier, on May 29, psychologist Ksenia Zabaturina named ways to combat impulsive overeating. With food, people often try to make up for the lack of emotional support, warmth, touch, satisfaction, meaning, inspiration, relaxation, and recognition. However, it is not so difficult to overcome unhealthy food cravings.
