The over-the-counter exchange rate of the US dollar dropped below 78 rubles for the first time since May 15, 2023. This is evidenced by data on the Finama site on May 29.
According to the calculations of the platform, by 11:18 Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate decreased by 2.54%, reaching 77.8 rubles.

On May 23, economist Mikhail Belyaev suggested that the actions of the Central Bank of Russia could be the reason for the dollar's depreciation against the ruble. According to him, all fundamental exchange rate-forming factors suggest that the ruble should weaken against the dollar, but this is not happening.
