Production of passenger cars in Russia increased by 8%

In the first four months of 2025, 246,000 passenger cars were produced in Russia, which is 8.3% more than in the same period last year. In April of this year, 69.8 thousand passenger cars were produced, which is 11.3% more year-on-year, according to Rosstat data.

The production of trucks in January – April amounted to 49.6 thousand units, which is 17.5% lower than last year for the same period. In April, 13 thousand trucks were produced (-22.4%).

The production of buses with a permissible maximum weight of more than 5 tons in April fell by 37.7% (to 853 units), and in four months — by 40.2% (3.1 thousand units). The production of buses weighing no more than 5 tons for a month amounted to 1.9 thousand units (-2.6%), and for four months — 5.7 thousand units (-12.8%).

Finally, in April, 20.9 thousand internal combustion engines were produced (-2.5%), and in January – April — 73.5 thousand units (-1.3%).

On April 19, AvtoVAZ launched production of the Lada Iskra model at the Tolyatti plant. The model will be available in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and Cross-wagon with black unpainted plastic elements on the body. The novelty will occupy a market niche between the Granta and Vesta models.
