The WSJ reported on Elon Musk's attempt to disrupt a major OpenAI deal

American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk tried to prevent OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT program, from concluding an agreement on the construction of a large data center in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This was reported on May 28 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
"OpenAI led a group of American tech giants that last week won a deal to build one of the world's largest artificial intelligence data centers in Abu Dhabi <...> Behind the scenes, Elon Musk worked hard to try to derail the deal if it did not include his own artificial intelligence startup," - the newspaper notes.
According to WSJ sources, during a telephone conversation with officials of the artificial intelligence (AI) company G42, the entrepreneur warned that US President Donald Trump would not sign an agreement on the construction of a data center if Musk's company xAI was not included in the deal.
Earlier, on March 1 last year, Elon Musk sued OpenAI, accusing the company of "commercialization." The main reason for the trial was the businessman's dissatisfaction with OpenAI's funding sources: the startup, which Musk was involved in, was conceived as a non-profit open source software project. He considers receiving funds from Microsoft Corporation as a "violation of the terms of the contract" and "undermining the values" of the company.
