An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred off the coast of Guam Island in the Pacific Ocean, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported on May 28.
According to the center, the earthquake occurred at 13:34 UTC (16:34 Moscow time) 51 km south-southeast of the village of Inarajan. The earthquake was located at a depth of 59 km.
It is reported that there was no information about possible casualties or damage.
On May 26, it became known that an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was registered in Tarapaca, Chile. It is specified that the epicenter of the seismic event lay at a depth of 113 km and was located 102 km northeast of the city of Iquique with a population of 227 thousand people.
