In the Leningrad region, alcohol sales time will be reduced by two hours

Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region have passed a law providing for a two-hour reduction in alcohol sales in shops and catering facilities in apartment buildings. This was announced on May 28 by the press service of the regional parliament on their website.
It is specified that alcoholic beverages will not be sold from 23:00 to 11:00. Currently, alcohol sales in the Leningrad region are allowed from 9:00 a.m.
"In particular, the sale of alcohol will be prohibited until 11 a.m., which is aimed at reducing the negative impact of alcohol on residents of apartment buildings," the agency said on its website.
The bill was adopted in three readings, and it will enter into force on September 1, 2025.
On May 15, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation of the Russian Federation Yuri Vasilchenko announced during the All-Russian Forum of Civil Society Institutions in the field of Alcohol Policy that the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Market Control (Rosalokoltabakkontrol) had begun developing measures to limit the sale of moonshine distillers.
