At least 18 people were poisoned in a cafe in Yamal


Investigators have opened a criminal case after poisoning at least 18 people in a cafe in Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. This was announced on May 28 by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that from May 23 to May 27 this year, fast food cafes sold dishes that did not meet safety requirements. As a result, at least 18 people became infected with a viral infection, while 12 of them turned out to be minors.
"The Noyabrsk interdistrict investigative department has opened a criminal case on the fact of food poisoning of residents of Noyabrsk on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements")," the agency's Telegram channel said.
It is indicated that law enforcement officers will give a legal assessment of compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards in the institution.
Earlier, on May 26, six people with signs of food poisoning were hospitalized in Bratsk after visiting a "Shawarma on Coals" catering establishment. Within two days, about 10 people applied to medical institutions in Bratsk.
