The mother of the victim in Baikalsk told about her daughter's studies at the same school with the suspect

One of the victims of the knife attack in Baikalsk, Irkutsk region, attended the same school as the suspect. This was reported to Izvestia on May 28 by her mother Olga Markova.

"They <...> went to school with her," Markova said.

According to her, her daughter asked for a birthday party and assured that everything would be fine, asked not to worry.

The mother of the deceased girl expressed a lack of understanding about the motives pursued by the suspect in the murder.

The deaths of five teenagers and the wounding of four as a result of a knife attack became known earlier that day. It is specified that after the incident, the alleged suspect set fire to the house and died as a result of the fire that started. An operational headquarters was set up in Baikalsk following the incident. Three days of mourning were also declared after the deaths of the teenagers.
