The mother of one of the children who died as a result of a knife attack in Baikalsk, Irkutsk region, could have known where the child was. This was reported to Izvestia on May 28 by the father of the deceased, Alexander Malyshev, who did not know about his son's murder before the examination.

He shared that he is currently traveling to the Irkutsk region, as he lives in Krasnoyarsk. The man learned about the incident from his father.

"My ex—wife called my father and said: my father has arrived. <...> She said initially that they had burned down," said the father of the deceased.

Alexander also clarified that he did not know the alleged suspect in the attack.

"I talked to my son and that's it. She (ex-spouse. — Ed.) Probably knew everything. In any case, she knew where he was," he added.

The deaths of five teenagers and the wounding of four as a result of a knife attack became known earlier that day. It is specified that after the incident, the alleged suspect set fire to the house and died as a result of the fire that started. An operational headquarters was set up in Baikalsk following the incident. Three days of mourning were also declared after the deaths of the teenagers.
