Russian gunners using a D-30 cannon hit and destroyed a crew of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on May 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

"In the Orekhovsky direction in the Zaporizhia region, the calculation of the D-30 artillery gun of the Dnepr group of forces, thanks to skillful actions and effective interaction with aerial reconnaissance, destroyed the calculation of the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, carefully camouflaged in the forest belt," the department said.

It is specified that during the performance of combat missions, the gunners work closely with the UAV calculations. Drones help both to conduct reconnaissance of enemy positions and to adjust the fire of Russian guns.

"Several UAV sites were suppressed, that is, the places from where the enemy launches FPV drones. There are also damage to ammunition depots, as well as enemy manpower," said the battery commander with the call sign Kusa.

Currently, the gunners of the Dnepr group of forces continue to successfully carry out tasks to suppress artillery batteries and control points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroy firepower, ammunition depots, weapons, military equipment and personnel of the enemy, thereby providing support to Russian assault units, the Defense Ministry concluded.
