In Connecticut, five people were injured in a shooting at a shopping mall. This was reported on Tuesday, May 27, by ABC News, citing the police.

"The injured were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment. <...> At the moment, there are no fatalities," the publication says.

The identity of the man who staged the shooting is currently being established, the media said. As indicated in the publication, he used a semi-automatic pistol.

It is assumed that the attacker and the victims were familiar.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that as a result of a mass shooting in Philadelphia in the United States, two people were killed and at least eight were injured. Two of the victims are minors.
